PMR Motorsports Prepares For Two-Car Assault on 100 Acre Wood Rally

March 15, 2019 – For the first time since 2019, both Pat Moro and Tim Rooney will get behind the wheel of PMR Motorsports machinery at an American stage rally event this weekend, as both drivers prepare for Friday and Saturday’s 100 Acre Wood Rally. The biggest difference, though: Moro will finally unleash the #59 Chevrolet Sonic LS3, his long-awaited Open 4WD project, on the American Rally Association field.

“This weekend has been a long time coming,” said Moro, who will pair with Ole Holter in the esteemed event. “We’ve spent years designing and building our new Sonic LS3, and our pre-event testing proved that it’s going to be an absolute blast to drive. 100 Acre Wood will be a perfect opportunity for us to compare what we’ve done with the best teams in the country and see just where we shake out right now. It’s going to be exciting to get back in the car with Ole and get back to competition!”

Moro joins one of the deepest Open 4WD fields in the history of the American Rally Association, which will sanction 100AW for the first time in 2019. The #59 Chevrolet Sonic LS3 will roll off 10th in its first-ever event, which kicks off with Friday’s Super Special stage in Potosi, Missouri and carries on with two full days of action on some of America’s most iconic and recognizable stages.

Rooney, meanwhile, will partner once again with Anthony Vohs in the #47 Subaru WRX STI in the Limited 4WD class and roll off 11th. Last year’s 100AW overall runners-up and Super Production class winners will look to make up for a difficult season debut at Sno*Drift that saw them Super Rally on the second day of competition to get back in the event.

“We’re ready to get back out on the stages at 100 Acre Wood this weekend,” said Rooney. “We didn’t start the season the way I had hoped at Sno*Drift, but we were in the hunt for an overall victory on these roads last year. Even though the field is a bit deeper this year, Anthony and I have the car to take a class win once again, and who knows, maybe more!”

Be sure to come see both PMR Motorsports cars at Parc Expose in Potosi on Friday at 11:30AM and on 4th Street in Salem on Saturday at 8:30AM. Follow along with this year’s 100 Acre Wood Rally at www.americanrallyassociation.org and on the official ARA app, as well as on ARA social media channels.
