Pat Moro Returns to Rally America Competition at Sno*Drift
Two-time Rally America class champion Pat Moro will return to stage rally for Sno*Drift, the first event of the 2017 Rally America National Championship. Moro will be partnered with co-driver Ole Holter in the #59 2011 PMR Motorsports SR004. The team will also field Tim Rooney in the #47 2015 PMR Motorsports SR009 alongside co-driver Rachelle Kaltak.
“It’s going to be great to get back behind the wheel at Sno*Drift,” said Moro. “This has been a long time coming for me, and while PMR Motorsports has been busy over the past few years on multiple projects, I’ve been itching for a return to Rally America as a driver. I’m excited for the 2017 season, and hopefully Sno*Drift will be the start of a terrific year!”
“Sno*Drift is an incredibly unique event, and I’m looking forward to getting the season started,” added Rooney. “I have to admit that I’m not the biggest fan of racing on ice, but conquering multiple surfaces is part of the challenge of rallying. Our two podiums at the end of 2016 were proof positive that we’ve got one of the best cars in the Super Production class. We’re going to contend for wins in 2017, and I’m ready to make my mark on this year’s championship!”
Moro won Rally America’s 2008 Production GT and 2010 Super Production championships. Since then, he and PMR Motorsports have remained active in the stage rally community, staffing and preparing various vehicles for competition, and returning as an SP entrant with Rooney in two late rounds last season. Rooney placed third in both events, good for sixth in the SP standings despite the limited schedule.
